Each Webland hosting package offers multiple PHP versions, which you can configure for your entire hosting environment or for specific virtual directories.

This article explains how to change the PHP version and what to consider.

How to Change the PHP Version – Step-by-Step Guide

You can change the PHP version directly in the System Configurator.

Step 1: Log in to the System Configurator

  1. Log in to the System Configurator using your customer number and password.

  2. Navigate to Webserver → Programming → PHP.

Step 2: Change the PHP Version for the Entire Hosting

  1. Select the domain for which you want to change the PHP version.

  2. You will see the currently applied PHP version.

  3. Click on the desired new PHP version to switch.

Step 3: Change the PHP Version for a Virtual Directory

If you need different PHP versions for specific directories:

  1. Under your domain, select "Add Virtual Directory".

  2. Create or select the target directory.

  3. Choose the PHP version for this directory.

Important Notes

  • Changes to the PHP version typically take effect within a few minutes.

  • Not all PHP versions are supported long-term – ensure that your applications are compatible with the selected version.

  • If you experience errors after switching, check your PHP scripts or revert to the previous version.

Additional support is available in the System Configurator manual.
