WebDAV (Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning) is an open standard for making files available on the Internet. Users can access their data as if it were on an online hard drive. In technical terms, WebDAV is an extension of the HTTP/1.1 protocol that removes certain limitations of HTTP. Up to now, online forms have usually only allowed users to upload individual files (HTTP POST). With WebDAV, entire directories can be transferred.
